English Cottage Garden
An English Cottage Garden is an abundant, closely planted garden bed that balances practicality with a relaxed, natural look. Originating from the small plots of rural English cottages, these gardens were packed with herbs, vegetables, and fruit to make efficient use of limited space. Overtime, this functional approach developed into a recognizable style featuring full borders, plants of differing heights, and curving paths. Today, English cottage gardens offer an inviting and timeless aesthetic.
Plants for the Braeside English Cottage Garden were donated by community residents, creating a shared community-grown space. The garden features a mix of perennials, shrubs, and classic flowering favourites that come together in a traditional English cottage-style landscape with bursts of colour that attract birds and bees.
